Countermeasures when input power supply is turned off upon equipment fault

1. When using the FR-A500 series inverter with the CC-Link option, if the input power supply is shut off, is this inverter disconnected from the CC-Link network?
Is it necessary to supply power between the terminals R1 and S1 to prevent this?
Are there any cautions when supplying the power?

2. When using the CC-Link type FR-E540 series inverter, if the input power supply is shut off as mentioned in 1 above, is this inverter disconnected from the CC-Link network?
While the FR-A540 has the terminals R1 and S1, does the FR-E540 have similar terminals?
Are there any cautions when supplying the power?

3. Is it correct that the FR-A540 and E540 inverters just supply power to terminals R1 and S1 and the inverter never operates unless power is supplied to the input power supply (R, S, and T)?

Answer

1. When the inverter power supply is turned OFF, the inverter is disconnected from the CC-Link network. However, since the CC-Link master station has the automatic restore function, the inverter is automatically connected to the network once the inverter power supply is turned ON again. While the power supply is OFF, communication to the child station becomes unavailable and fault display appears on the CC-Link master station. The inverter restarts operation once the power supply is turned ON and communication with the master is established.

2. The E500 inverter does not have the terminals R1 and S1. For CC-Link, explanation in 1 above applies.

3. The A500 inverter detects presence of the input voltage (for R and S phases only). Therefore, while there is no power supply to the input terminal, the motor cannot operate. (However, if Pr.30 is set to "2" (use FR-HC), the motor can operate.)
The E500 inverter does not have control power supply terminals R1 and S1, and power supply to R, S, and T is necessary just as in the regular operation, and the motor can always operate.
