Inverter with one-rank higher capacity
Sometimes an inverter with one-rank higher capacity than the motor capacity is used. What is the standard to determine when the one-rank higher capacity should be used? That is, for what usage or purpose, or for which motor type or operation pattern?

Answer
An inverter with one-rank higher capacity is often used when a high torque is required for a short period of time.
(Examples)
- When rapid acceleration/deceleration is necessary
- When a large load is momentarily applied (for example, at the moment when a cargo is loaded on a conveyor)
Note that torque exceeding the maximum torque of the motor cannot be generated. Also, note that you cannot operate the motor constantly under a load higher than its rated torque.
