Surge voltage of 400 V inverter

When using the inverter with the standard motor:
1. About influence by the micro surge that occurs when using a standard motor with a 400 VAC class inverter
Since the standard motor has improved voltage resistance, is it OK not to install surge suppression filter?
2. What is the insulation strengths of the inverter motor and standard motor?
3. For the inverter motor, is the insulation strength enough even if the surge suppression filter is not installed?
Category :

Answer

1. Since the voltage resistance of the standard motor is not improved, it is recommended to use an "insulation-enhanced motor".
If you are using an insulation-enhanced motor, it is basically not required to install the surge voltage suppression filter.
2. Standard motor: 850 V Insulation-enhanced motor, inverter motor: 1250 V
3. Basically no problem.
