Stop-on-contact control

I drive a self-propelled device with two motors that are controlled by a single inverter.
I want to implement stop-on-contact with the device.
1. Is it possible to implement stop-on-contact?
2. Let me know what I should care when implementing stop-on-contact?
Category :

Answer

1. You can implement stop-on-contact.
2. When implementing stop-on-contact, use the inverter to decelerate the motors to reduce the impact upon stop-on-contact.
If stop-on-contact is performed at high speed, the impact load may cause an overcurrent trip of the inverter.
(Reference) Our inverter provides the stop-on-contact control function.
By using this function, you can control the motor to reduce the torque upon stop-on-contact. However, since it requires Advanced magnetic flux vector control, the parallel operation using a single inverter and two motors is not allowed.
