I want to shorten deceleration time of small capacity motor

I want to use the FREQROL-E500 with a 0.1 kW motor to start and stop a rotor with a large inertia.
I am considering to use the FR-E520-0.1K inverter, but it does not have (high duty) brake resistor setting.
Can I just increase the inverter capacity?
Or, should I also increase the motor capacity?

Answer

You can use an inverter with a larger capacity than the motor.

You cannot connect a brake resistor to the FR-E520-0.1K and 0.2K.
With the FR-E520-0.1K or 0.2K inverter alone, you can obtain 20% (for continuous operation) or 150% (for short-time operation) of the braking torque.
The brake resistor is available from 0.4K inverter capacity, and configured using Pr.30 and Pr.70.
You can consult us for selection of motor and inverter capacities. Contact your local office.
