Is an encoder necessary?

Answer
It is necessary for vector control operation. Use a dedicated motor or a motor with an encoder.
If you use another manufacturer's motor, use an encoder capable of 1000 to 4096 pulses/rotation and 5 V line driver output.
Open collector encoders are not applicable.
