Speed control range

I have a question about the inverter's speed control.
I use the inverter "A024" to control rotation of a 1.5 kW geared motor (1/10).
The current speed range is 10 to 60 Hz.
I want to control speed at 1:50 range with this system.
I think I need to change the motor to one with encoder and also change the gear ratio. What is the control range when controlling rotation with the inverter's magnetic flux vector control?
Does rotation of the motor varies drastically under 6 Hz?
If the inverter cannot control the 1:50 range, should I use an AC servo?

Answer

Many geared motors cannot continuously operate at low speed (for example, slower than 6 Hz) due to grease viscosity.
If the motor you are using is of this type, you cannot widen the speed control range due to the restriction of the motor.
If your motor is capable of continuous operation at low speed (constant-torque motor) or if you do not operate the motor continuously at frequencies with restrictions, you can widen the speed control range.

The speed control range when General-purpose magnetic flux vector control is performed with the FR-A024 is 1:15. By changing it to the FR-A500 type and performing advanced magnetic flux vector control, the speed control range expands to 1:120 (speed variation of 1%) with power driving.
To reduce the speed variation, use the plug-in option FR-A5AP and a motor with encoder and the speed variation can be improved to 0.02%.

In addition, the combination of the vector inverter FR-V200 type and dedicated motor achieves the speed control range of 1:1500.
In this combination, you need to attach the reduction gear or increase the inverter and motor capacities in accordance with the required torque.
