Inverter general matters

1. When a three-phase motor is connected to the FR-A500 series or FR-E500 series, and emergency stop is done with the motor (driving side), is there any difference between these series?
2. What is the proper use (application) and concrete selection standard of the FR-A700 series and FR-E700 series?
3. For an application with frequent ON/OFF sequences, which of the FR-A700 series and FR-E700 series is more suitable?

Answer

1. To perform emergency stop, it is recommended to have the motor coast and stop it using a mechanical brake.
In this case, the output stop (MRS) signal is input and the motor is coasting, there is no difference between series.

2. The FREQROL-S500 is recommended to variable-speed usage with small capacity.
Consider the E500 when a high regenerative ability is required.
The FREQROL-A500 is recommended for advanced control or large capacity.

3. Since the FREQROL-A500 series with up to 7.5 K capacity has a built-in brake resistor, the deceleration time can be shortened. Other capabilities are similar.
