In our 3-contactor type star-delta starter (EYD), in order to eliminate thebreaking duty of the star contactor (MCS), the main contactor (MCM)break the star-starting currents. Therefore, the MCS short-circuit methodis set as a delta short-circuit, and a smaller frame than at star short-circuitis selected.
