It is possible to turn off back lights. When any button is not pressed for 5 minutes, the automatic off mode setting for backlights turns off the backlight automatically. (Pressing any button turns on the backlight.)
The automatic lights-off setting saves power about 0.2 VA during the back lights turn off.
