The Instruction Manual includes the following descriptions: "When connecting a DC power supply, insert a protective diode". Why is that?

Answer
For countermeasures against the open/close surge of the MC (magnetic contactor). Insert a diode not to apply 27 VDC or more to the open collector terminal of the inverter due to surge.
