Harmonic suppression guidelines

Is the ACL always necessary when installing a 200 V class inverter of 3.7 kW or smaller?
What guidelines are applied to inverters out of this range?
Category :

Answer

A 200 V class inverter of 3.7 kW or smaller is the target of the harmonic suppression guidelines for household appliances and general-purpose products, and installing a power factor improving reactor (ACL or DCL) is mandatory to satisfy the standard.
Inverters out of this range is subject to the Specific Consumer Guidelines. Note that these guidelines are note intended to suppress harmonics generated by an inverter alone but regulates the total harmonics leaking from the consumer. (Countermeasures for the inverter include installation of ACL and DCL as well as high power factor converter (FR-HC). It is also possible to insert an active filter into the power supply facilities.)
