Countermeasure against noise and leakage current during low-noise operation
What countermeasure should I take against noise and leakage current during low-noise operation of FR-A024?
- Category :
Answer
The following two major countermeasures against noise are available:
- Keep the noise source and partner device apart from each other.
- Install a noise filter (FR-BIF, FR-BLF, and others)
- Shield the inverter or cable.
- Insulate the circuit.
Countermeasures for leakage current
- Change the inverter's carrier frequency to a lower value.
- When the earth leakage circuit breaker operates unnecessarily, use earth leakage circuit breakers designed for high-frequency and surge suppression in the inverter's own line and other line.
- When the external thermal relay malfunctions, install the reactor (FR-BOL) on the inverter output.
* The most effective countermeasure against both noise and leakage current is to lower the carrier frequency of the inverter.
Note that lowering the carrier frequency increases motor noise. It is recommended to lower the carrier frequency to the level without generating too much noise.
Refer to the technical note No.21 (noise and leakage current) for details.
